Changing Lives Through the Gift of Free Braces or Invisalign
At Gorman & Bunch Orthodontics, we believe everyone deserves the chance to show off a healthy, good looking smile — even those who might never be able to afford it on their own. And so we partnered with the Smile for a Lifetime Foundation and founded the first Central Indiana Chapter to offer families in need with scholarships for free braces or Invisalign through our Carmel, Westfield, West Carmel/Zionsville, Fishers, and Kokomo offices.
HOW IT WORKS
We know that a great looking smile has the power to dramatically enhance one’s quality of life. It gives hope, boosts overall health, and helps raise one’s self-confidence.
We want to change lives through the gift of a smile.
And so through our Smile for a Lifetime Central Indiana Chapter, our team of doctors and clinical assistants will gladly donate our time, skill, and resources to treat up to six deserving children, teens, and young adults across Central Indiana at no cost. And we can’t wait to see how those newfound smiles benefit our local communities.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE
Our Smile for a Lifetime Board of Directors meet three times a year (April, August, and December) to review all applications and award up to six scholarships per term. You or a friend can apply at any time, but completed applications must be submitted no later than the 15th of the preceding month (March 15, July 15, and November 15) to be considered for that scholarship cycle. Otherwise, it will fall into the next cycle.
While we would love to assist everyone in financial need, our Board will only consider candidates who meet the following guidelines:
- Be between 11 and 19 years old.
- Live within one hour driving distance from our Carmel, Westfield, or Kokomo offices.
- Not exceed family income threshold of 200% of the Federal Poverty Level Annual Gross.
- Have a significant esthetic need for braces.
- Agree to follow the treatment plan, maintain good oral hygiene, and demonstrate the ability and commitment to make all appointments on time.
- Be a currently enrolled student and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Be willing to completing 40 hours of community service during the treatment period.
- Show involvement and leadership in extracurricular activities.
